Costco does not price match other retailers in Canada. Its business model relies on membership fees and warehouse-scale buying to keep prices low, rather than matching competitor flyers item by item.

Why Costco doesn’t price match
Costco’s pricing strategy is structurally different from flyer-driven grocery chains. It carries a limited number of SKUs at high volume, charges an annual membership fee, and keeps margins thin across the board rather than running weekly loss-leader promotions that need matching. Price matching against other retailers doesn’t fit that model.
Costco’s own price adjustments are a different thing
Costco offers a price adjustment if an item’s own price drops after your purchase, which is unrelated to matching a competitor’s price. The rules differ by purchase channel:
- Warehouse purchases — eligible for a price adjustment within 30 days of the purchase date. Bring it up at the Membership Counter at the warehouse where you bought it.
- Costco.ca orders — eligible if the price drops within 30 days of placing the order, submitted through Costco’s online price-adjustment request form. Credit is typically processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method.

Does it apply to groceries?
Not applicable — there’s no competitor price-match program at Costco, grocery or otherwise.
How this relates to PC Express / Superstore price matching
If you split your shopping between Costco and Real Canadian Superstore, Costco generally isn’t usable as a comparison source for a Superstore ad-match request, since Costco’s bulk package sizes rarely match the size, count, or variety of a regular grocery-store item exactly, and Superstore programs require an identical product.
