How do I install PriceGoose?

The short answer

Install the PriceGoose app on iPhone from the App Store, sign in, and keep it up to date. Android access is currently in beta.

PriceGoose is a free iPhone app. Android access is currently in beta. There is nothing to buy, no trial, and no subscription.

To install it:

  1. Open the PriceGoose listing in the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Get, then open the app.
  3. Create an account or sign in with an existing one.
  4. Allow camera access when prompted, so the app can scan barcodes.
  5. Allow location access, or enter a Canadian postal code instead.

If you already have Android beta access, follow the install instructions provided for that test. This site currently links only to the iPhone app.

Requirements

The iPhone app needs a reasonably recent iPhone with a working rear camera and an internet connection to look prices up. Android access is currently limited to beta users. It is a phone app, with no tablet layout or desktop version.

Keeping it up to date

The App Store updates apps automatically by default. If you think you are on an older iPhone build, open the app’s store listing and select Update if the option appears. You can see the version you are running on the Account tab.

If the app will not install

On iPhone, check that your operating system is current enough for the listing, that you have storage space free, and that you are signed in to the App Store account you normally use. If installation still fails, the store’s own error message is usually the fastest thing to search for.
