Troubleshooting and Support

What information should I include when contacting PriceGoose support?

Steps
The short answer

Send the minimum diagnostic details PriceGoose support needs while keeping passwords, payment data, and unrelated personal information private.

Short answer

Explain what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and what you were scanning. Include your phone model, OS version, and the app version from the Account tab, plus a cropped screenshot that hides sensitive information.

Never send a password or a full payment-card number.

When to use this article

Use this guide when installation, sign-in, permissions, location settings, scanning, or a price result still does not work after the relevant troubleshooting steps.

Information to include

  1. The task: say whether you were signing in, scanning, changing your location, or reading a result.
  2. The result: describe what you expected and what happened instead. Include any exact error text.
  3. The product: for scanning or price problems, give the product name and the digits printed under the barcode. This is the single most useful thing you can send.
  4. The store and price: if a price looked wrong, say which store it was attributed to and what the shelf actually said.
  5. The time: the approximate date and time, with your time zone where possible.
  6. Your phone: model and OS version.
  7. The app version: shown on the Account tab.
  8. Location context when relevant: your postal code or general shopping area, only when the problem needs it. Not a full home address.
  9. A safe screenshot: the relevant screen, cropped to the problem.

Do not send

  • Your PriceGoose password, or any retailer account password
  • Full payment-card or bank information
  • Verification links
  • A full home address unless support explains why it is needed
  • Loyalty account numbers
  • Personal details unrelated to the problem

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Sending only “it does not work”
  • Omitting the product and its barcode digits on a scanning problem
  • Sending a screenshot that does not show the error
  • Including more personal information than the problem requires
  • Contacting PriceGoose to overturn a decision a store made at the till

What to do next

Send the details to support@pricegoose.ca. For anything about a store’s price-match policy or a decision made in-store, contact that retailer instead — see Who decides whether a price match is granted?
