Why did no prices show up near me?
Understand why a recognized product can still return no local prices, and what to check before scanning again.
Short answer
PriceGoose identified the product, but none of the stores near you had a published price for it. That is a normal outcome, not a failure. It usually means the chains around you do not carry that exact item, or do not list it online for your area.
PriceGoose does not check every grocery store in Canada. It checks the supported stores within your search radius.
When to use this article
Use this when the product name appears correctly at the top of the result, but the price list underneath is empty or very short.
Why no local prices came back
- No supported store near you carries that exact product.
- The product is listed nationally but not stocked in your region.
- The item is temporarily unavailable at the locations checked.
- The retailer publishes a price only for pickup or delivery in another area.
- A retailer’s site was unreachable while the scan ran.
- Your postal code points somewhere with thin store coverage.
Coverage is densest in Ontario and expanding. A product that returns nothing in one area may return several prices in another.
Check the result
- Confirm the correct postal code is set, or that location access is granted and accurate.

- Scan again in a few minutes if a retailer may have been briefly unreachable.
- Check the product name shown against the item in your hand — a wrong product identification can also produce an empty list.

- Assuming an empty list means the app is broken
- Assuming every Canadian grocery chain was checked
- Leaving a postal code set to somewhere you no longer shop
- Keeping a small search radius in an area with few stores
