How do I change my location or search radius?
Switch between your current location and a postal code, and set how far PriceGoose looks for stores.
Open the Scan tab and tap the settings (gear) button in the top-right corner. The Location sheet has two settings:
- Where to search from. Choose Use my location to search around where you are, or Enter postal code and type the postal code for the area where you shop.
- Search radius. Drag the slider to set how far PriceGoose looks for stores, from 1 km to 100 km. It starts at 5 km.
Tap Done, then scan again. Your next scan uses the new settings. Results already in your History were produced with the old settings and are not recalculated.
You can also reach the same sheet from a scan result. Tap the line that shows how many stores were compared, then tap Change location.
Choosing a radius
A wider radius finds more stores and more prices, but a scan takes longer because each store is checked in turn. A price at a store 40 km away is also unlikely to be useful, and unlikely to qualify if you ask another store to match it. Start small and widen it if results look thin.
Where these settings are saved
Location settings are saved on your phone, not on your account. If you sign in on another phone, set them again there.
If the N stores nearby label at the top of the Scan tab does not appear, PriceGoose could not find supported stores for that location and radius. Check the postal code, or try a wider radius.
